Hermiston School District Hosts Bilingual Basketball 3on3 Tournament
HERMISTON—In a vibrant display of community engagement and partnership, the Hermiston School District is proud to announce it will host the Bilingual Basketball 3on3 Tournament at Armand Larive Middle School. Scheduled for the weekend of June 8, 2024, this event underscores our deep commitment to nurturing young student-athletes and strengthening community ties through sports.
The tournament, which precedes the Bilingual Basketball Camp in July, provides a dynamic platform for young athletes to showcase their skills. Divisions are organized according to the 2024-2025 school year. Interested participants can register through Tourney Machine using the link provided. Official tournament rules will be released one week before the event, ensuring all players are well-prepared for competition.
The Bilingual Basketball program collaborates with The Advocate Foundation and Made to Thrive, both 501(c)(3) organizations dedicated to supporting youth development. Their commitment to helping youth in our community enables them to offer a range of free resources at the camp, including school supplies, bilingual books, backpacks, basketballs, and even haircuts, all aimed at removing barriers to participation and enhancing the camp experience.
Beyond the immediate excitement of the tournament, the collaboration is driven by a long-term vision championed by the Bilingual Basketball program and its partners. Their commitment to establishing a scholarship fund for student-athletes underscores a deep dedication to the communities they serve. These initiatives are not just for short-term impact but are part of a sustained strategy to foster lasting relationships and ongoing community development.
Your support is crucial. It reinforces the powerful message to our young athletes that their community, supported by dedicated organizations, believes in their potential and is invested in their success. Together, we can make a profound difference in their lives.
