Hermiston School District provides this notice to inform students, parents/guardians, staff, and the community that pesticide applications may occur on district properties throughout the school year, from September through July.
Pesticides may be applied as needed to maintain district grounds, athletic fields, landscaping, and other areas of school property. Applications will be conducted in accordance with applicable Oregon laws and regulations, including Oregon's School Integrated Pest Management (IPM) requirements.
Any areas that receive a pesticide application will be clearly marked with appropriate warning signs. Signs will identify the treated area and provide the applicable application information and contact information.
When pesticide applications are scheduled, appropriate notification will be provided in accordance with state requirements. Applications will be performed by appropriately licensed personnel when required.
